End of last year 2023 the Vilnius-Riga direct train connection startet its service. During the last days there were news about this offer. As Lithuanian Railways (LTG) said in a press release there will be two more stops. The additional stopls will be Jonava and Kėdainiai. This new route will be operated starting April 1.
As LTG said the travel time between Vilnius and Riga will not be longer with those two new stops. This is possible because of of an ending of reconstructions works in railway section Gaižiūnai-Kaišiadorys.
